I found a used spindle that fit except the hub bearings. There is a small and large bearing hubs for a Dana 44. I need large this one was small. So I found one new from Durasolid. Large bearings but my bushing didn’t fit. The bushing rides on the outer axle. After brain storming with my brother Larry he pulled my coat tail to needle bearings. Newer Dana spindles have bearings, so now I know.

I ordered a needle bearing. I did some research. Can you put a needle bearing spindle on a closed knuckle axle? The answer I got was probably not. I tried when I received the bearing. Too small, 1/16 of an inch to small. What now? Well no one in person at any local business I went to is familiar with the parts. After more parts hunting I believe I found a correct part. On Torque King 4×4’s website I found a spindle with bushing for a 73 Ford F 250 with a Dana 44 HD axle. Will this one work? I will keep you posted.
