Finally done with something

As my galaxy of readers will know, the front hubs on Old Green have been challenging. I finally installed the bearing races, bearings and seals. I am now just a gasket and snap ring away from completely moving forward. These will be easy to source since they are Dana 44 parts and not vehicle specific. A quick trip to the Off Road Warehouse in Murrieta should handle it. A little brake line bending for the end.

I ended up pressing everything in with the shop press. The large inner races took a little ingenuity. I started to remove the hub studs but they were very hard. I changed tactics and built a stand with channel steel. The install tool was too wide for the final 1/4 inch so it was pressed with the old race sanded a little bit on the side. When I got to the seal I kept it going on the press as well. A little cautious with the seal because it can be distorted by the press.

Working with a short attention span I did start on the rear and exhaust. But that is a post for Friday. Follow me on Instagram KingBrianReuck or #reuckcustoms for all my photos. New cars are boring fix something.
